The final results for the ARRL’s 2021 Field Day event have been published in the December issue of QST.
Due to continuing Covid-19 concerns, rules for the 2021 event were changed to permit Class D stations, home stations operating on commercial power, to work other Class D stations for QSO credit. Normal Field Day rules do not permit Class D stations to work other Class D stations for QSO credit. Also, as was done in 2020, stations operating Field Day using their own call sign were able to have their individual score applied to a club’s total score. New for 2021 was a rule change that limited transmitter power for Class D and E stations to a maximum of 150 watts output.
The club’s total Field Day score for 2021 was 5846 points compared to our 2020 score of the 5335 points.
With the reduced Covid-19 restrictions we were able to have a more normal Field Day Event with 14 members operating the club station in 2021 compared to only 8 members in 2020. We also had 14 visitors to the clubhouse during Field Day including a member of the Miamisburg City Council. On Sunday afternoon we had a Field Day dinner get together that was open to all members. One of the most important accomplishments of our 2021 Field Day event was having several members operate Field Day for the first time.
Hopefully, we can continue to improve our Field Day activities and increase the number of members who participate each year.
Attached is detailed information on the club’s Field Scores for 2021 and 2020.
